Amplifier filter settings

Here you will find guides to filter settings for amplifiers from Bass Habit, GAS and DLS.

The guides show settings for different applications, such as subwoofers, coaxial speakers, car audio speaker boards (raggarplankor), and midbass drivers with horns or tweeters. Choose your amplifier from the list below and follow the example that suits your installation.

How do I use the guides?

  1. Check the amplifier’s model identifier. Pay attention to any generation number or other additions to the model name.

  2. Open the model’s guide using the link below.

  3. Choose the correct application, such as a subwoofer, coaxial speakers or a car audio speaker board.

  4. Follow the markings for the correct channels and controls. On multichannel amplifiers, different channel pairs may need different filter settings.

Also check that the speakers’ wiring and impedance suit the amplifier and the example you are following.

Can I use the same filter settings for all speakers?

No. The settings depend on which speakers the amplifier drives, how they are connected and which filters the amplifier has.

Start with the correct example in the model guide and also check the speakers’ recommended crossover frequencies. A setting for a subwoofer must not be used as a setting for a tweeter, for example.

How should Gain or Level be set?

Gain or Level must be matched to the signal level from the stereo. This setting therefore needs to be adjusted for your system even when following a filter guide.

Follow the amplifier’s instructions for level adjustment.

What should I do if my amplifier is not listed or I am unsure?

Contact BRL and provide the amplifier model, which speakers or subwoofers you use and how they are connected.

Please send a clear photo of the amplifier’s controls and connections. This will help us find suitable settings for your system.
