My stereo amplifier will not turn on. What can I do?
If your stereo amplifier will not turn on, there are a few things you can check before we proceed with troubleshooting or a possible service case.
1. Check the power connection
Check that the power cable is securely connected to both the amplifier and the wall socket.
If the amplifier is connected to a power strip, try connecting it directly to a wall socket.
Also check that the socket works, for example by connecting a working lamp.
2. Check the power switch
Some amplifiers have a separate main power switch on the back. Check that it is switched on if your model has one.
If you normally turn on the amplifier with the remote control, try using the power button on the amplifier itself.
3. Check whether the amplifier shows any signs of life
Check whether the amplifier responds when you try to turn it on.
Does a light or display come on? Do you hear a click? Does the amplifier turn on and then switch off again?
If the amplifier displays an error code or warning indication, check what it means in the product’s user manual.
4. Check whether the amplifier enters protection mode
If the amplifier turns on but immediately switches off or displays a warning, its protection mode may have been activated.
Switch off the amplifier, unplug the power cable and check that no loose speaker cable strands are causing a short circuit between the connections.
If you are unsure about the connections, we recommend contacting us before making any changes.
5. If the problem persists
If the amplifier still will not turn on, we need the following information:
The amplifier’s brand and model.
The amplifier’s serial number.
Whether the amplifier worked previously or the problem occurred on first use.
Whether the amplifier is completely unresponsive or shows any signs of life.
Whether the problem occurs with both the remote control and the power button on the unit.
Whether the power cable and wall socket have been checked.
Whether any error code or warning indication is displayed.
Please describe what happens when you try to turn on the amplifier.
With this information, we can help you further and assess whether additional troubleshooting or service is needed.
